Food Safety for Retail – Highfield Level 2 Award (RQF)

Learners gaining this qualification will know that food safety is the responsibility of everyone
involved in the storage, preparation and handling of food. Its topics are regarded by the Foods
Standards Agency as being important to maintaining good practice in the production of safe food.

Who is it for / requirements?

This operator training course is designed for potential operator’s who haveno previous experience of operating industrial counterbalanced or reach lift trucks rider-operated. Theyshould be over the minimum school-leaving age (except in docks where they must be at least 18 years ofage), they should have a reasonable degree of physical fitness.

Course Programme

Topics include:
• Principles of food safety for retail
• Importance of foo d handlers keeping themselves and work areas clean and
hygienic
• Importance of keeping food products safe

Assessment

This qualification is assessed by multiple-choice examination. Learners must complete 20 questions within 45 minutes and successful learners will need to achieve a mark of 66% (13/20) overall to pass.
